Microsoft Dynamics GP integration with POS and Retail Systems

If you organize a mid-market retail application then Microsoft Dynamics GP is a real corporate system for your 1st choice and you would like to consider the integration between other systems and all are located in Microsoft SQL Server. In earlier Dynamic versions are also available on Pervasive SQL 2000 or Ctree but this version is really the legacy and it will focus on MS SQL Server versions. If you have an old version of the Great Plains then you can still add to import a text file with the integration of Manager, and a text file can be obtained from the counterpoint or Microsoft Dynamics RMS using SQL-query:

1. Here you have a predefined MS SQL Server DTS packages export GL (usually daily sales) and payables (recharge) operations. DTS is currently regarded as legacy applications in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 and you can either upgrade your DTS packages or use Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager to work with DTS configuration files (usually, when you need to change the predetermined DTS package and include user-defined field in its export text files). When you receive a text file then the next step is to import them into GP Integration Manager (which is the SE version of the Legacy and it is not a big problem when IM has been available, so indeed historic times)

2. Microsoft RMS export Great Plains and here you can also add-on Agility, which moves the GL and AP transactions.

3. Some shortcomings native integration tools described in paragraphs 1 and 2. Both the integration should be started and the user can not be scheduled (without complex programming) to start automatically. The second question - how to relate the import of a particular company of the Great Plains? and you have to exit the current company also log of the new company to send transactions there.

4. Alba Spectrum Microsoft RMS integration to Dynamics GP: Here you have scheduled automatic integration many to many (RMS stored Dynamics GP company), integration in the processing of orders-level operations (or receivable documents, where you can track the integration at the level of GL exact distribution). This integration is a “Resolution”, which means that Alba Spectrum engineering consultants to install and configure it for you.

5. Advanced integration counterpoint to the Great Plains: We encourage you to consider the possibility to withdraw the counterpoint documents directly into Dynamics GP Integration Manager Advanced ODBC queries

6. Bonus topic, Counterpoint or Microsoft RMS integration with SAP Business: Here you have two options. First is the deployment of SAP B1 Data Workbench (if the Advanced query ODBC from DTW to imitate you SB1 DTW CSV templates). The second option - you pull the records of counterpoint SQL database or pull the records via GP SAP Business SDK.

This integration is probably not for small companies such as programming of the budget and it should be closed to 100 hours. But for those who expect certain investments and plans to benefit from others.
