I was going through discussions in the LinkedIn SharePoint group and found a very interesting questions: Top features that SharePoint doesn't support? So many SharePoint experts posted a lot of features they or their clients are expecting to be available in SharePoint. I have consolidated some of the main features people found missing in SharePoint:
1) Ability to move an entire LIST from one site to another.
2) More descriptive messages for errors and exceptions.
3) Out of the box webparts for displaying data from multiple lists.
4) Restoration of wsp or cmp using SP UI instead of PowerShell Scripts.
5) SharePoint Designer workflow import export.
6) Hierarchical Quick Launch which could be customized using UI.
7) Access Rights/Permissions inheritance between sites collection.
8) Ability to customise a List/Library infopath form with Metadata column.
9) Tool to start/stop a workflow on all item of a view.
10) Built-in cross site collection navigation support.
11) A better Mobile experience Out of the box.
12) Better iOS support for better iPad, iPhone, and iPod experiences.
13) A more extensible navigation to allow admins to create multi-tiered navigation.
14) A nice looking and easy to use Discussion Board.
15) Transactional mode.
16) The ability to use [Me] and [Today] in ALL formulas and calculated fields.
17) Simple Master-Detail
(Parent-Child) relationships between 2 different lookup list columns (or
Site Columns, or Managed Metadata Columns).
18) The ability to easily
define SharePoint User Groups all by themselves first, THEN use them by
adding them to a given site you're working in.
19) Good Outlook integration to realize simple and user friendly (manual) email archiving.
20) out of the box Search Engine Optimization tools.
21) Full fidelity site to site collection migration or import export.
22) Full fidelity list import export including workflows.
