Various options to connect to the Internet using Windows Mobile 6.0

Microsoft Windows Mobile is known to be for feature rich and easy to use mobile operating system and it has become standard operating system for handheld PCs and SmartPhones.

Windows Mobiles provides a lot of features and functionalities, but here we will discuss only about the various options supported by Windows mobile to connect to the Internet. It provides following options for connecting your device to the Internet or a corporate network using Windows Mobiles.

  • Cellular (GPRS): A wireless connection available through mobile service providers.
  • Wi-Fi: A wireless connection that lets you connect to the Internet by using wireless access points.
  • Internet Sharing: A wireless connection that lets you connect your computer to the Internet by using your device as a modem.
  • Dial-up: A connection that lets you connect to an Internet or corporate server by using a wireless phone service.
  • USB: A wired connection that lets you connect to the Internet by using ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center and an Internet connection on your computer.

Although Windows Mobile supports above Internet connection types, but these options may be available on your device or not. So before trying any options in your device using Windows Mobile, first make sure that option is available on your device.
