What is the difference between an explicit and an implicit lock?

Explicit Lock: Lock is explicitly requested for a record or table. Implicit Lock: Lock is implied but is not acquired.

The difference between both of them is :

* Explicit Lock :- Lock is explicitly requested for a record or table.
